The variator transforms the single phase current to the 3-phase needed for the Schaublin motor. The switch box changes the motor rotation speed between the 750 and 1500 RPMS (CW &amp; CCW), combined with the 3 motor belt positions and the 3 lathe belt positions, it offers 18 gears, plenty to spin your head around. To know the RPM of the lathe head, I used an old bike computer: I wanted the km\/h displayed on the computer to be equal in value to the RPM of the lathe, with 1667mm of wheel circumference that does the trick (with a factor of 10 i.e. 38 km\/h = 380 RPM)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"fr\" src=\"\/wpblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/fr.gif\" alt=\"en\" width=\"27\" height=\"21\" \/>Grace a l'aide de Tony et Claude, le tour tourne ! Le variateur transforme le monophase en triphase pour alimenter le moteur Schaublin. La boite de commutation permet de passer de 750 a 1500 tr\/min (horaire et inverse) coupl\u00e9 aux 3 positions de courroie du moteur et aux 3 positions des poulies du tour, ca donne 18 vitesses, assez pour vous donner le tournis.
