Tea for three and three for tea…
Starting in September, I will offer framebuilding courses of 2 students, having aquired a second Miller TIG welder and an extra brazing kit to accomodate for 2 students at a time. By grouping students that agree, I free some time for my own framebuilding work while giving each student a 15% discount on the framebuilding course. This benefits me and the 2 students who get to build their bike and see another build his, all this for a reduced price: it's a win-win-win situation.

A partir de Septembre, j'offre des stages de fabrication en binome, après l'achat d'un poste TIG Miller et d'un kit de brasage de plus. En groupant 2 stagiaires qui le souhaitent, je dégage plus de temps pour ma propre activité de fabrication tout en offrant une remise de 15% sur le prix du stage a chacun des stagiaires. Cette formule est bénéfique pour moi mais aussi pour les 2 stagiaires qui fabriquent leur cadre et voit l'autre stagiaire fabriquer le sien, le tout pour un prix réduit: c'est du donnant-donnant-donnant.

It's been a busy July, getting the Paragon distribution going and planning for the upcoming work. It's time for a small break but I'll be right back in the saddle on the 15th of August for some nice projects: to name but a few, we'll have a titanium softail 29er with a Lefty fork in the pipe, some touring bikes and 3 framebuilding courses (an MTB, a lugged roadie and a steel recumbent).

Ce fut un mois de Juillet bien rempli, avec le demarrage de la distribution de pieces Paragon et la plannification du boulot a venir. C'est grand temps de faire une petite pause pour reprendre de plus belle a partir du 15 Aout avec un projet VTT softail 29er titane avec Lefty, des velos de rando et 3 stages de fabrications (un VTT, un cadre route a raccords et un velo couche acier).
Back from Berlin
We're back from a weekend at the VeloBerlin bike show, we held a small stand to promote our framebuilding activity and the framebuilding classes. Great show, great people and great beers ! I finally got to meet the world famous bicycle globetrotter, Mr Tilmann Waldthaler himself (www.timann.com), his life philosophy after some 30 years of pedalling around around is quite simple, he told us "I built a strange relationship with the guy up there, by the way this guy is a smoker, why would he give such long lives to crocodiles and turtles when all they do is eat and repeat, while Humans have so many things to do in so little time" being nearly 70 Tilmann is an energy ball and I'm sure there's more life in one of his eye than in the hundreds that stare at him while listening to his stories. He's one heck of a guy !

Nous sommes rentré d'un weekend d'expo à VeloBerlin, ou nous avons tenu un petit stand pour promouvoir notre activité de fabrication et de stages de construction de cadres. Au final ce fut un super salon, supers gens, supers bières. Nous y avons rencontré le fameux Globetrotter, Mr Tilmann Waldthaler lui-même (www.tilmann.com), sa philosophie après plus de 30 ans à pédaler autour du monde: "J'ai développé une relation un peu particulière avec le gars la-haut, qui d'ailleurs est un sacré fumeur, sinon pourquoi est-ce-qu'il aurait accordé une vie si longue aux crocodiles ou aux tortues qui ne font que manger et recommencer, alors que les Hommes ont tant de choses à faire en si peu de temps" à bientôt 70 ans le jeune homme est une boule d'énergie, il y a plus de vie dans une seule de ses pupilles que dans tous les yeux de la foule qui l'entoure pour écouter ses histoires. Bref, un sacré bonhomme.
