Class pics: Daniel-Hendrik-Sam – Day 1
This week we have Damiel from Belgium and Hendrik from Germany for a paired framebuilding class. Daniel is TIG welding an MTB steel frame and Hendrick is silver brazing a Fleu'de-Lys lugged road/track frame & fork. Sam is also from Belgium and is helping out Daniel with the TIG welding being a welding teacher back home he's sure a helping hand and a good advice, I'm also going to tap into his know-how to try my hand at Aluminum TIG welding :-)

Cette semaine nous avons Daniel de Belgique et Hendrik d'Allemagne pour un stage de fabrication en binome. Daniel se fabrique un VTT en acier soudé TIG alors que Hendrik brase a l'argent un cadre de route/piste avec des raccords Fleur-de-Lys. Sam est aussi de la partie et aide Daniel avec la soudure, lui-meme étant instructeur en soudure a Bruxelles, ca aide. J'en profiterai pour lui demander des conseils pour la soudure de l'Alu :-)

Tea for three and three for tea…
Starting in September, I will offer framebuilding courses of 2 students, having aquired a second Miller TIG welder and an extra brazing kit to accomodate for 2 students at a time. By grouping students that agree, I free some time for my own framebuilding work while giving each student a 15% discount on the framebuilding course. This benefits me and the 2 students who get to build their bike and see another build his, all this for a reduced price: it's a win-win-win situation.

A partir de Septembre, j'offre des stages de fabrication en binome, après l'achat d'un poste TIG Miller et d'un kit de brasage de plus. En groupant 2 stagiaires qui le souhaitent, je dégage plus de temps pour ma propre activité de fabrication tout en offrant une remise de 15% sur le prix du stage a chacun des stagiaires. Cette formule est bénéfique pour moi mais aussi pour les 2 stagiaires qui fabriquent leur cadre et voit l'autre stagiaire fabriquer le sien, le tout pour un prix réduit: c'est du donnant-donnant-donnant.
