Brazing class: Anthony & Loic
This week, Anthony and Loic came to fillet braze their own touring frame and fork. Anthony built a classic canti brake style frame and lugged fork. Loic built a more modern through axle disc brake frame with a unicrown fork.
Cette semaine, Anthony et Loic sont venus braser leur propre cadre et fourche de rando. Anthony a construit un cadre classique avec freins canti et une fourche a raccords, Loic un cadre plus morderne avec axe traversant et freinage a disque et fourche unicrown.
Fillet Brazing Tests
Long cold winter days are best for trying out new things. Today I fine tuned a new "no bottle" setup with a medical oxygen concentrator - natural gas and a Harris 19-6 torch, changing the torch tips between #2 and #3, changing the oxygen flow within 1.5 to 2 L/min and trying different sizes of rods 1.6, 2.4 and 3.2mm. I could reach a setup I like with the #3 tip, oxygen flow at 1.8-2 L/min and the 2.4 brass rods. Here is the result after cleaning:
Les longues journées froides d'hiver sont propices aux essais. Aujourd'hui j'ai affiné les réglages d'un poste a braser "sans bonbonne" avec concentrateur d'oxygène médical - gas naturel et torche Harris 19-6. En changeant les embouts de la torche entre les #2 et #3, en variant le débit d'oxygène entre 1.5 et 2 L/min et en utilisant des baguettes de laiton de 1.6, 2.4 et 3.2mm. J'ai finalement opté pour l'embout #3, un débit d'oxygène à 1.8-2L/min et des baguettes en laiton de 2.4mm. Voilà le résultat après nettoyage:
