Blocked Shimano Freehub for Pinion
Recently I built a Pinion gearbox commuter bike and used a pair of Shimano 27.5". The rear wheel has a normal 9/10 speed Shimano freehub and the pinion also has a built-in freewheel mechanism making it kind of strange when you startup or restart pedaling as two freewheel mechanisms kick in. To solve this, I modified the Shimano freehub and block it in a fixed position. I removed the freehub, removed the rubber seal in the back, degreased it completely in a petrol and acetone bath and silver brazed it on the back side. It works, it's cheap, clean and strong.
Récemment j'ai fait un velotaf avec boitier vitesse Pinion monté avec une paire de roue Shimano 27.5". La roue arrière a un corps de roue libre 9/10 vitesses Shimano et le boîtier Pinion a un système de roue libre interne ce qui faisait bizarre au moment de commencer ou reprendre le pédalage, l'enclenchement des deux systèmes est long. Pour résoudre ce problème j'ai modifié le corps de roue libre de la roue Shimano en le bloquant dans une position fixe. Pour cela j'ai retiré le corps de roue libre, retiré le joint d'étanchéité en caoutchouc derrière, bien dégraissé le tout a l'essence et a l’acétone avant de brasé la partie arrière a l'argent. Ca marche, c'est économique, propre et solide.
